A client-centered remodeler built to serve Tucson.
You’re inviting someone into your home. You deserve to know who we are, how we work, and what we’ll do to steward your budget, your home, and your peace of mind.
The dream for Good Steward was born in a golf cart.
The vision began to unfold at TPC Scottsdale’s Champions Course almost a decade ago.
Taylor was working a shift as a golf course attendant parked in a quiet lot, daydreaming instead of doing whatever golf course attendants are supposed to be doing. Too many ideas have often made Taylor a slightly distracted employee.
It was right after lunch with a tradesman who had fallen on hard times. Taylor couldn’t shake the thought; too many skilled people were barely scraping by, and some were one bad month away from losing everything. When people dread going to work, it affects the homeowner, too. The job slows down. Details get missed. Communication breaks. Everyone loses.
Years later, after lots of learning and praying, the timing finally lined up for Taylor and Josiah to start Good Steward together in order to serve you.
You might be wondering… why did we choose the name Good Steward?
The name is simple: we believe we are being entrusted with a lot, and we want to handle it faithfully.
Homeowners trust us with their homes, hard-earned income, and their time. Subcontractors and partners trust us with their workmanship and reputation.
Even more seriously, we believe we are stewarding the talents, time, energy, and opportunities that God has given us. That’s not something we take lightly.
What does stewardship look like in the real messy world of remodeling?
Stewardship isn’t a slogan. It’s how we run the work.
Licensed, bonded, and insured, so you’re not carrying unnecessary risk.
Permits are obtained when required to ensure the work is documented and completed correctly.
Dust and site protection with containment, negative airflow, and HEPA air scrubbers so your home stays livable.
Transparent, line-item proposals you can actually understand, with honest numbers and clear scope.
Written change orders only, and they must be approved before we proceed, so there are no surprises later.
Daily communication through JobTread, plus text/email/calls, whatever you prefer.
The Steward’s Promise, which is a lifetime workmanship guarantee, help coordinating manufacturer issues when we supply materials, and is proactive with a one-year check-in.
Building a remodeling company rooted in stewardship wasn’t the easy route. But it was the right one.
Getting the chance to serve homeowners in our community is a gift. If you want a remodel that’s managed with care, we would love to help.
Meet the Founding Partners

Taylor Bankhead
FOUNDER + MANAGING PARTNER
Taylor leads client and partner experience and quality assurance at Good Steward, helping homeowners translate their vision into a clear plan they can feel good about. He’s the one making sure the scope is understood, decisions are organized, and communication stays steady from the first walkthrough to the final punch list. Before Good Steward, Taylor spent his early career ranching, excavating, apprenticing with a remodeling company, and later building teams and systems. He graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor’s in Business Management in 2019. Most recently, he served on the leadership team at a local design-build remodeling company in Scottsdale. In 2025, he served as Secretary on the Greater Phoenix NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) board.
Taylor grew up in San Diego, but Arizona has been home for almost a decade. He’s married with kids, loves watching sports (Padres baseball, Chargers football, and U of A basketball), and you’ll find him trail running in Sabino Canyon or along the Rillito. If you need restaurant recommendations, he’s easy: La Frida, Amelia’s, Guadalajara, El Charro, Quesadillas, Paco’s, Seis Kitchen, i.e., Mexican food.

Josiah Goode
FOUNDER + MANAGING PARTNER
Josiah leads operations and project systems at Good Steward. He’s the steady, analytical finisher who turns big ideas into a realistic plan: sequencing, schedules, and decisions that hold up once trades, lead times, and inspections enter the picture. If you like order, clarity, and follow-through, you’ll like how Josiah thinks.By trade, Josiah is a civil engineer who builds bridges for the State of Arizona, along with the unglamorous parts that matter, like culverts, retaining walls, and drainage structures. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. He’s trained to design within constraints, catch problems early, and deliver work that has to be right the first time, mindset included. That discipline shows up in remodeling through practical planning, clean coordination, and realistic budgets and timelines that aren’t wishful.
Josiah is originally from Pinetop and now calls Tucson home. He’s married, loves getting outside, and spends a lot of time walking with his wife or running in Sabino Canyon. He loves the Denver Broncos. He’s also a U of A basketball fan, which means he understands both hope and heartbreak. Around a jobsite, he’s calm, patient, and quietly relentless.
A disciplined process that protects your home, your budget, and your peace of mind.

We start with an in-home consult to understand your goals, take measurements, talk rough numbers, and most importantly, discover whether we are a great fit for the project.
P.S. even if we are not a great fit, we likely know someone who is, and would be happy to refer you. -
We turn your ideas into a build-ready plan. We confirm material selections (with our team or alongside your interior designer), then map the planning and permit path needed to move forward.
Next, we build a highly transparent, line-item scope and a guaranteed-max proposal for the defined scope. We walk you through it so you know exactly what’s included, what it costs, and what comes next.
-
After signing the proposal, before we start construction, we collect the initial deposit, set the calendar in stone, and get materials on hand.
-
We protect the home, manage subs and inspections, do milestone reviews, provide daily updates, give you a client portal where you can track everything, and use written change orders only.
P.S. if change orders are related to anything that we missed in our initial scope, that’s billed at-cost to you. If it truly involves new scope, we will go through the estimating process again. -
We like to finish strong. To close out the project we complete an internal punch list, client punch list, deep clean with pro cleaners, final walkthrough, then your final invoice. To cap this all off, we also complete a one-year check-in with The Steward’s Promise.
